This website provides information about the work of the DeZIM Institute. Which personal data is processed to fulfil the aforementioned purpose by means of this website depends largely on the respective use of the offers provided on the website. In addition, this notice contains information on the processing of personal data that is not collected via offers on this website.

The legal provisions on which the processing is based are in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. Access to the website

Each time the website is accessed or a file is retrieved, the following information from the accessing computer is stored in a log file (log files):

  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the file accessed
  • IP address
  • http status code and size of data transfer
  • Operating system and browser used
  • length of time spent on the website
  • website from which the user's system accessed the individual page called up
  • sub-pages that were accessed from the accessed website
  • The data is deleted after 3 days.

The purpose of logging is to ensure the functionality of the website, the security of the underlying information technology system and a web analysis. The data is only transferred to third parties if there is a legal obligation to do so, e.g. insofar as this is necessary for legal or criminal prosecution.

The legal basis of the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 letter e DSGVO in conjunction with. § Section 3 BDSG (performance of a task in the public interest within the scope of competence). The data will be stored for a period of three months and then deleted.

Contacting the DeZIM Institute

When contact is made via the e-mail address provided or the postal address of DeZIM e.V., personal details contained in the message or letter are processed. The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 letter f DSGVO (processing for the protection of legitimate interests). The personal information will be deleted insofar as it is no longer needed to fulfil the purpose of the processing.
Rights of data subjects

As far as your personal data are processed by the project "National Discrimination and Racism Monitor (NaDiRa)" or its processors, you are a data subject in the sense of the DSGVO. In this respect, you have the following rights vis-à-vis DeZIM e.V. as the data controller under the DSGVO:

  • Right to information (Art. 15 DSGVO)
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 DSGVO)
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 DSGVO)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 DSGVO)
  • Right to object (Art. 21 DSGVO)

In addition, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority in accordance with Art. 77 DSGVO.

Use of Matomo

We use the web analytics service Matomo. The Matomo programme is an open source project. Information from the third-party provider on data protection is available at https://matomo.org/privacy-policy/. Cookies are stored on your computer for this evaluation. The information collected in this way is stored exclusively on our server in Germany. It is not passed on to third parties.

We use Matomo to analyse and regularly improve the use of our website. The statistics obtained enable us to improve our services and make them more interesting for you as a user.

The legal basis for the use of your data is your consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a) DSGVO. You can revoke your consent at any time by changing your setting in the Consent banner.
